Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has appealed to Viktor Yushchenko, the President of Ukraine with the Application on Facilitating the Solving of the Problem concerning Functioning of the International Center for Children "Artek"
"Taking into consideration that "Artek" is under the subjection of the State Department of Case Management that is under Your Authority, ask You to interfere in the protection and preserving of the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine and use emergency actions to continue its working. The main aim - is to preserve the International Children Center "Artek", as unique cultural and recreation center that has always been under the patronage of the President of Ukraine".
